DigitalGuru was founded in 1994 by Rupin and Rupesh Kotecha, and began at a Southern California street corner, with just a tent, four tables and 100 books. Specializing in technical books on the verge of the dot-com era, this humble venture very quickly became successful, and maintained its vision to become the exclusive on-site bookstore for technology conferences in the US and abroad. In 1995, DigitalGuru became the exclusive technical bookstore for the world’s largest annual technology expo, Comdex. In 1996, DigitalGuru also opened two retail bookstore locations, one in Brea, CA and another in Sunnyvale CA, in the heart of the Silicon Valley.
